Shenzhen's skyline will come alive with spectacular drone light shows featuring over 10,000 drones every night from Oct. 1 to 7. The shows will be staged at five locations across the city. To give the shows a global flavor, the city is inviting creators from around the world to submit ideas.
The shows are one of more than 300 cultural and tourism activities that the city has planned for the autumn season. According to Liu Lei, head of the Shenzhen Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism, and Sports, these events aim to attract visitors from around the world.
Shenzhen has prepared 10,000 discounted tickets to major attractions across the city. It will distribute 10,000 vouchers for low-altitude flights before and after the National Day Holiday, giving tourists the chance to explore the city from above.
According to Liu, Shenzhen received 80.94 million visitors in the first half of this year, up 16.09% year on year, with tourism revenue reaching 121.53 billion yuan (US$17.14 billion). International tourists made more than 3 million trips through Shenzhen’s checkpoints as of Aug. 14 this year, an increase of 122.7% compared with the same period a year ago.
