YANTIAN has cemented its reputation as a leader in environmental sustainability, becoming the only port enterprise in Guangdong Province selected as part of the “dual-carbon goal” pilot program. This recognition follows the terminal’s longstanding commitment to green initiatives, having previously won the “Best Green Container Terminal” award four times—an unprecedented achievement in the industry.

On Aug. 15, during National Ecology Day celebrations in Guangdong, YANTIAN was officially named a pilot organization under the province’s Carbon Peaking and Carbon Neutrality Pilot Plan (2023-2030). This program aims to drive green development as part of the region’s high-quality growth strategy. Following a rigorous selection process, 48 pilot organizations were chosen across the province, with YANTIAN being the only port enterprise among them. In 2023, YANTIAN successfully cut its carbon emissions by nearly 20,000 tons compared to the previous year—a reduction equivalent to planting approximately 1.09 million trees.
