THE iShenzhen app (“i深圳”), an all-in-one government service platform, has achieved a significant milestone — its one-stop sports venue booking feature has been used for 12.91 million bookings since its launch two years ago.
This achievement was announced during a ceremony celebrating the platform’s second anniversary at the Shenzhen Book City CBD Store in Futian District.
According to the latest data, the platform now offers booking access to 1,975 sports venues and 8,326 sports areas, catering to over 1.37 million registered users.
Additionally, 658 schools have made their facilities available for public workout bookings during designated slots. The platform’s reservation system will immediately connect any newly established schools that meet its criteria.
During the ceremony, Liang Hong, a renowned sports blogger and marathon pacer, shared her positive experience with the platform. “This platform offers multiple venue options, comprehensive sports categories, and clear operational logic, providing us with abundant choices,” she said.
“Not only can we reserve slots for popular sports such as soccer, basketball, volleyball, badminton, and tennis, but also for relatively niche ones like gateball and squash,” she added.
Huang Han, managing director of the Shenzhen Lindan Badminton Club, highlighted the advantages the system offers to sports venues. “The platform provides residents with convenient fitness services, bringing exercise right to their doorstep, just like online shopping,” he said.
“This not only encourages more people to stay active but also bolsters our venue’s operations,” said Huang.
For now, expat residents need to access the system through each district’s booking WeChat account: Futian (WeChat ID: happyfutian), Luohu (WeChat ID: gh_337ab0bf409e), Nanshan (WeChat ID: NSWTT_), Bao’an (WeChat ID: gh_48cbe9c2dbc8), Longhua (WeChat ID: WenhuaLonghua), Longgang (WeChat ID: szlgwtt), Guangming (WeChat ID: gmwentitong), and Yantian (WeChat ID: gh_c68209136745).
However, the booking services are in Chinese only.
